One Act Play Festival
cast bios
The GAC Staff & Board of Directors would like to give a SPECIAL THANK YOU to the cast for their dedication & hard work for this showcase!
Bennett Louis (Wiens)
Bennett is a former local who went to school here and still has family in
Gunnison. He graciously accepted the invitation to appear in The Visitation and to perform his
original song. He is now a singer/songwriter in the Denver area. Many of his original recordings
are available on Spotify. “Chasing the Moon,” his song for this play, will be on Spotify later this
summer.
Bev Jordi
I’ve been behind the scenes for live theater in Gunnison County for 20 years. Great
fun to step up and on stage with my best friend Mary.
Cindy Petito
Cindy has been involved in community theater for many years. She recently
joined the GAC board and is proud to be a part of this evening’s staged readings.
Thank you,
Paul! And, thank you all for being here (especially, Hannah, Bailey & Maggie).
Emily Edwards
Emily has enjoyed getting back into some theater since returning to Gunnison. She also has a blast doing improv up at the Crested Butte Mountain Theater. Hope you enjoy the show, and happy Spring!
Jack Gibbons
Acting in Crested Butte for too many years to mention, Jack is excited to do more
theater in Gunnison, “a hidden gem.” It is good to see Gunnison building its performance arts.
He looks forward to a full play production in the little Blue Box.
Johnelle Lamarque
Johnelle has studied people’s stories much of her life, first as newspaper
reporter, then a cultural anthropologist. She wrote Pack of Kool as a short story and, thanks to
Paul, expanded it into a short play. Johnelle was born and raised in south Louisiana.
Julia Wilson
Julia has enjoyed helping out with theater productions in the Gunnison Valley for
the last 30+ years. Her most recent endeavor is hanging out with Skyler Matthias’ Valley of
Fools clown troop. She has also enjoyed playing the piano for the Missoula Children’s Theater
(MCT) for the last several years and looks forward to helping with the GAC’s next MCT
production, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in August.
Laura Croll
Laura was born and raised in the Austrian alps. After moving across the pond, she
found her roots first in New Orleans and then in this beautiful valley, especially being part of
the creative and theater community. She is excited to read a part in this great 10-minute play!
Mary Tuck
You might recognize Mary from Crested Butte, as a director and an actress for many
years. She is very happy to be performing here at the Gunnison Arts Center.
Paul edwards
Paul wants to thank the GAC folks for all of their fantastic support in launching what he hopes will be a continuing annual presentation of original short one-act plays. Paul is enjoying retirement but keeping his hand in writing and teaching workshops. His attention will shortly turn to law, garden, and grandchildren for the summer.
Ron Mallon
Ron is a professor of philosophy at Washington University in St. Louis. Mallon’s
scholarly work explores topics of culture, identity, and morality. This is his first theatrical
performance since junior high.
S.L. Sosa
A Western State Alumni, Sosa has recently returned to Gunnison after a long stint in
Los Angeles. Sosa is delighted to have the chance to work with Paul Edwards, mentor and
professor, during her Wester State years, as well with the wonder group of creatives who made
this event possible. Sosa finds solace spending time in nature and near bodies of water,
including Rindge Dam and Blue Mesa Reservoir.
Shary Templeton
Shary is excited to work with Dr. Paul Edwards and the Gunnison Arts Center
for this night of one-act plays. She is a long-time local who graduated from WCU and never left.
She is a published writer who is new to the craft of playwriting. She is retired from Gunnison
County and enjoys spending time volunteering, playing board games, writing, drawing, golfing,
knitting, bird watching, and gardening. She has two much-loved furry brothers, Jessie and Frank.
Terry Schliesman
What a thrill it is to be a part of this production. And so quintessential Gunni:
creative, thoughtful, and collaborative. I’d like to thank Paul Edwards for the invitation and GAC
for hosting.
Zoe J. Lindner
I have lived in Gunnison since I was 2 years old. I am now 12 and in the 6 th grade
here in Gunnison. I love to act and try to make people laugh, and I love to play sports. I enjoy
being at home with my cats, spending time with my friends and family. I love to travel, and
more than anything, I LOVE to eat food!
